Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Donezy (“we”, “us”) and govern your use of the Donezy mobile app. By creating an account or using Donezy, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Donezy.

Who can use Donezy

You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.

What Donezy is

Donezy is a tool for recording shared expenses, tracking who owes what, and organising settlements between friends and groups.

Donezy is not a bank, wallet, payment processor, money-services business or financial adviser. It does not hold, move or guarantee any funds. Balances are records created by you and your group members, not statements of account.

Payments and UPI

When you use a UPI settlement option, Donezy hands off to a UPI app on your device. You make the payment through that app and your bank, under their terms.

Donezy only records that a settlement was attempted and its outcome, so group balances can be updated. Donezy is not responsible for failed, delayed, incorrect or fraudulent payments made through third-party apps.

Your content

You are responsible for the group names, member names, expense descriptions, notes, photos and other content you add. Do not add content that is unlawful, infringing, abusive, harassing or hateful, that impersonates someone, or that shares another person's personal information without a lawful basis.

You give Donezy a limited right to store your content and show it to the group members you share it with, so the app can work.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse Donezy — including trying to break, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service or to other users' data, automated scraping, or using Donezy to defraud, threaten or harass anyone.

Reporting and enforcement

You can report objectionable content or behaviour, and block another member, in the app or by emailing support@donezy.in. We may remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts, that break these terms.

Accounts and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab — see Delete your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you break these terms or if the law requires it. Shared ledger entries other members rely on may be kept in anonymised form after deletion.

Service changes and availability

Donezy is provided “as is” and “as available”. Features may change or be discontinued. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every calculation is free of mistakes — always check figures with the people you share expenses with.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Donezy is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for losses arising from disputes between users, incorrect entries or third-party payment apps. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

App stores

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (standard EULA) also applies. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for the app or its content.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Where you have mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence, nothing here removes them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use Donezy after an update means you accept the new terms.
